NOTICE:  VVA CHAPTER 1067 wishes to THANK all of the brave souls, young and old alike, that attended our third annual Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day Ceremony, without regard for the bad weather that confronted us before and during the ceremony.  Those in attendance are true patriots who showed their love for their Country and our Vietnam Veterans, God Bless one and all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Committee has scheduled an After Action Report (AAR) meeting to be held at the ADTRAN East Cafe Meeting Room, breakfast at 0730, meeting begins at 0800, on Wednesday, April 9, 2014.  All key individuals that participated in this year's event should come to the meeting with written comments, pro or con, regarding the planning and execution of our March 29th annual event.  This is a lessons learned round table discussion, which hopefully will enable us to make improvements for the conduct of future Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans events to be held at the Veterans Memorial.

Sydney Parker,, contacted me recently about sharing a tax resource document that he helped develop for Veterans in the community.  He states that since online filing of income taxes, which is upon us, has become increasingly popular and many families will ask which tax service should they use, to answer this question, his team worked hard to develop a resource to help families choose which tax service is best for them.  The result is a completely free and comprehensive guide which features expert review, detailed comparisons, and data-driven ratings - saving veterans and their families both time and effort in an otherwise time-intensive and blind decision process.  The quality and depth of their work will be evident if you look through their resource, before making your tax preparation decisions.  He has requested that I link their guide here on our web site, in order to provide veterans and their families with a very comprehensive resource that will help them save a lot of time and effort, so I will list their link here as a community service; however, this is in no way an endorsement of their product, just a means of getting the word out to the veteran community about the availability of their completely free product.

You can find their guide here:

Good Luck with your tax preparation!!!!

We have just recently published our first quarterly VVA Chapter 1067 newsletter and distributed copies to our members, thanks go to Roger Marnell for compiling the newsletter, hopefully this will aid the Chapter in the area of communications about our involvement with community events, and our meeting schedules, and might get more members to attend our monthly meetings, God Bless one and all, please be sure and mark your calendars for the March 29, 2014 Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day Ceremony to be conducted at the Huntsville/Madison County Veterans Memorial on Monroe Street in downtown Huntsville, Alabama, it will truly be an event to remember and bring your grandchildren to.
