Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1067
Home of the late Medal of Honor Recipient Col Leo K. Thorsness
Son Nguyen is in our Chapter as a Lifetime Associate VVA member. He is a former South Vietnamese Officer in the Republic of South Vietnam Army and he was arrested and put in prison after the North overran the South and took over the Country. Many of the former South Vietnamese Army Officers were executed by the North after their takeover. The International Festival (IFEST) is held annually at the UAH Campus in Huntsville and our Chapter shares an information booth with Son, representing South Vietnam. His daughter graduated from UAH with an Engineering degree. This interview is very enlightening. It is about one hour long but worth every second. Please take the time to view this interview. With heavy hearts we are sad to say that we have lost one of our great heroes.
COL (R) Leo K. Thorsness. 1933-2017
