May 17, 2013, Semper Fi Community Task Force 7th Annual meeting and open house, Raytheon Company Auditorium, 401 Jan Davis Dr., Huntsville, AL, Social Hour (Hors d'oeuvres) 5:30PM, meeting 6:30PM, followed by Reception 8PM. Guest Speaker Robert Critcher, Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment. Booth displays by local service organizations.
May 16-18, Membership Drive/Fundraiser, Redstone Arsenal, Commissary/PX areas 9-4PM
May 23, 2013 (Thursday), 11AM-2PM, Madison County Vet Center Memorial Day Celebration, BBQ, Guest of Honor, Tony Victor, WWI Army Air Corps Veteran and Former POW.
May 23, 24, and 25, 2013, VFW Post 5162 will conduct a Buddy Poppies Drive at Redstone Arsenal PX locations, perhaps we will be invited to join them.
May 24-27, 2013, Membership Drive/Fundraiser, Serra Toyota of Decatur, AL
May 27, 2013 annual Memorial Day Wreath Ceremony at Maple Hill, Huntsville, AL
Looking ahead, Armed Forces Week 23-27 July, 2013.

Knights of Columbus Building on Leeman Ferry Road (Now Civitan's Building)
NATIONAL VVA CONFERENCE 13-18Aug13, Jacksonville, FL. All leadership positions are up for reelection, and our Chapter, based on end of February Membership, is authorized four (4) voting delegates at the Convention. We are still looking into the possibility of operating a vendor store for our Chapter at the Convention, and the Alabama State Council may ask us for up to 3 or 4 members in good standing to volunteer to represent and be delegates for other Chapters or At-Large members, if not filled by the June 2013 ASC Meeting in Hoover. If you desire to be a delegate at the Convention in August, let me know, so that I can give names, when the time comes.

Honoring those veterans killed or missing in action:
A special ceremony was held September 21, 2012 at the Madison County Veterans Memorial in Huntsville, AL to honor those veterans killed or missing in action. President Warren Harmon of the Vietnam Veterans of Alabama was the keynote speaker at the event.
