I’m blessed and honored to be your new Chapter Chaplain replacing Charlie Miller, especially knowing Charlie’s heart, who has done such a great job and set such an example as Chaplain. You’ll see Charlie and I have a lot in common, our dedication to you and our love for our Lord Jesus Christ and the faith we have in Him and our desire to see everyone in our Chapter, and the many out there who should be in our chapter, know the Lord and the peace and hope we can only have through Him as well as the friendship, fellowship and mutual support we can have as Vietnam Veteran brothers, and sisters.

As a young company commander in Vietnam in the middle of a lot of trouble my battalion commander told me something that has stuck with me, that “If you do your best, it’s usually enough,”  simple enough, but a profound truth.  I believe this is true for us all today as we face the challenges of life as we still deal with the consequences of the war in our lives and the effects of the passing years on us and our families as we do our best, and help each other, and follow the Lord we with His help will prevail.

I also believe Jesus’s words in Matthew 5:14-16 applies to us in VVA Chapter 1067. In verse 14 Jesus said, Ye are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. In verse 16 He said, “Let your light so shine, before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.

We are not perfect, but we can work together the Lord’s way and as a chapter be like that city set on a hill, to our families, to our community and to each other and have a blessed chapter that is recognized as such and be a blessing to each other.

I’ll be praying for our chapter every day. I do hospital visits and more.  Call or email me anytime.  My email address is and my cell number is 256 337 0826
