Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1067
Home of the late Medal of Honor Recipient Col Leo K. Thorsness
Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1067 in Huntsville was extremely proud to host The Wall That Heals’ visit to Huntsville’s John Hunt Park November 1-4, 2018.
Chapter 1067 was chartered in June of 2012 and has grown to the largest VVA chapter in Alabama and the 9th largest in the country. We are dedicated to “Support those who returned home and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice”. Their service and sacrifice can never be forgotten.
Chapter 1067 has hosted the “Welcome Home” event 7 consecutive years. Examples of our involvement are ministry visits to incarcerated veterans, funeral services and support for families of our veterans, assistance for our veterans with obtaining benefits they have earned and would otherwise not receive, monetary support for our youth ROTC, schools, and God and Country events. Most of all we provide a means for us to continue serving.
We can only continue by our fund raising efforts and generous donations from the community. Thank you!
The carved wooden plaque pictured was designed by Neal’s Custom Carving, a life member of chapter 1067. Its production has been authorized by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund for the purpose of supporting our continuing efforts to reach out to our Vietnam Veterans, their families, and community for as long as we can.
Please consider supporting VVA Chapter 1067’s cause with a tax-deductible donation of $500 and receive this 13x13 plaque personalized with your company or organizations name. This will be a lasting reminder of The Wall That Heals event.
“Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another”
